About Us

Although our story began with muzzle brakes, Highland Canyon’s purpose extends far beyond muzzle rise and recoil management.

Our company is simply the product of a group of individuals who were determined to find a solution to a problem they were experiencing in the field, and that intention is evident in all of our products.  We are a small sample of hunters, shooters, Second Amendment supporters, and adventure seekers who hope to share the solutions for our frustrations with the rest of the population.  When a customer uses one of our products, we want him or her to have full confidence in its performance, and the story from which it was created.

To this day, Jerry’s vision of keeping his crosshairs on a prairie dog throughout a shot remains a key principle in our muzzle brake design and serves as an example of how we develop new products; recognize a problem, develop an unmatched solution.

Have a question about guns? Ask Gustavo. It was hard not to ignore Gustavo's obsession with firearms and competitive shooting, and being an experienced mechanical design engineer, he was an obvious choice for Highland Canyon's first employee. He's been involved with a variety of shooting competitions since 2017, including Precision Rifle Series, Long Range Tactical Rifle, Extreme Long Range, 2 Gun, and 3 Gun. You can often find his name in the upper portion of the leaderboards, but he'll make sure to tell you he's just in it for the fun. When he's not at the range, Gustavo enjoys mountain biking or eating donuts.

With over 45 years of experience in tool and die, John has developed a reputation for perfection. Although his standards for precision are seen as unattainable by some, Highland Canyon saw John as the ideal person to be in charge of our machining process. Like the rest of the team, John found Highland Canyon to be a bridge between work and play. John grew up small game hunting and spent many years skeet shooting. Today, he enjoys competing in Precision Rifle Series and Extreme Long Range matches and even won the Gas Gun Division in the Northwest region in 2020.
